Befriending and Get Active Service
We know that not everyone is able to get out and about. For people living on their own, it can sometimes seem like a lonely life.
That's why we launched our Befriending and Get Active Service. Working in partnership with Age UK and Disability One Voice, our trained volunteers call elderly and disabled tenants every Tuesday and Thursday between 11am and 1pm to catch up and have a general chat. It's also a great opportunity for our volunteers to check that they're okay and that they're getting all the help and support they need.
We're always on the lookout for volunteers to help us make those precious calls. Two hours of your time might seem like such a small thing, but to someone living on their own, it's possibly the greatest gift you could give.
It's okay if you can't commit to doing it every week or even every month. We're grateful of whatever help you can give.
If you or someone you know would like to sign up for this service or would like to volunteer, please get in touch with our Community Partnership Team on 01902 554765 or 550158 or complete the Befriending and Get Active Service form.
