Young people
The Young Persons team focuses on housing support for individuals aged 18 to 25. It plays a key role in the assessment process for the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Roof Over Our Heads pathway, which assesses young people to live independently, mainly in the social rented sector and often in properties managed by Wolverhampton Homes.
-
What the team does
The team provides advice, information, support and practical help to young people from the ages of 18 to 25.
We work with other agencies to ensure these young people settle into their accommodation and successfully maintain their tenancy.
They are fully supported to live independently and can access support with improving their life and social skills, their health and wellbeing, and how to manage money.
The team promotes independence and develop initiatives that help to enhance the young people’s social opportunities, health, education, and interpersonal relationships.
It also provides a frontline service by way of home visits and attend the weekly Oasis Drop-in for Care Experienced young people.
The service responds to the needs of households experiencing issues, such as poor mental health, domestic abuse, hoarding, lack of income or poor money management or where other factors affect their ability to sustain their tenancy and/or their general health and wellbeing.
