As a leaseholder, you have the right to sell or sublet your property. Before you do, there are some things you should know.
If the answers you're looking for aren't covered in this section, please contact our leasehold management team.
Selling your property
As a leaseholder, you have the right to sell your property. Before you approach an estate agent or solicitor or enter into negotiations with a potential buyer, you should first contact our Leasehold Management team. We will be able to advise you what works are planned for the building, which will help your sale to go as smoothly as possible. We recommend you have a pre-sale pack, which contains this information and more.
Subletting your property
You have the right to sublet your property. Before you do, you should familiarise yourself with your rights and responsibilities.
Buying the freehold of your building
As a leaseholder, you may have the right to buy the freehold of your building as part of a collective.
Extending the lease
A lease extension is the process of adding years back onto a lease and extending the time you have before the property reverts back into the ownership of the Council. This process is managed by the City of Wolverhampton Council. For more information, please click here to visit the Council’s website
