Festive clean-up in Heath Town!

With the sound of holiday tunes filling the air, thirteen colleagues from Wolverhampton Homes and the City of Wolverhampton Council joined forces to give back to the community. Together, we collected an impressive 50 Santa sacks of litter, spreading festive cheer along the way.

At Wolverhampton Homes, colleagues are encouraged to support local communities through paid volunteering days, making a real difference where it matters most.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in this event!

  • Eviction for drug dealing at Chervil Rise

A customer at Chervil Rise has been evicted after a court order from Wolverhampton County Court. The customer was dealing drugs from their flat. We previously obtained a civil injunction to prevent illegal activity, but this was breached. They were then given an eight-week suspended prison sentence.

  • Anti-social behaviour at Brockfield House

We have applied for a civil injunction against a customer at Brockfield House. This is in response to anti-social behaviour, the poor condition of their home, and not allowing access to United Living. The injunction will also prevent them from keeping a large dog, such as an XL bulldog. If someone breaches an injunction, they could be sent to prison for up to two years.

  • Suspected drug dealing at Longfield House

We had concerns about drug dealing at a home in Longfield House. By checking weekly key fob use, we have been able to take action. This is still being looked into, and we will keep you updated.

  • Tackling anti-social behaviour in Heath Town

In November, we carried out home visits, including to homes causing concern, and issued warning letters to young people gathering in the Hobgate Road area.

We visited the Hope Centre several times to raise awareness about anti-social behaviour and exploitation.

We are also moving forward with injunction applications against two individuals who have been "cuckooing" residents across the Heath Town estate.

EYES (Engagement Youth Empowerment Services) has been active in the area to address ongoing concerns.

Join us for the next Let's Talk

Thank you to everyone who attended our Let's Talk session in October and the follow-up meeting in November. The events were a great opportunity for attendees to engage with our senior management team, colleagues, and local Ward Councillors.

During the meetings, we discussed important topics such as maintaining healthy homes, especially in the winter months, and the Tenant Satisfaction Measures. It was an invaluable chance to hear your views and work together on meaningful improvements in our community.

Our next Let's Talk session will take place on Wednesday 22 January (5pm to 7pm) at Tremont House Community Lounge, Tremont Street, WV10 0JD. The themes for this session include repairs, fire safety, and winter warmth and wellbeing.

Essential e-scooter safety tips for a safe holiday season

E-scooters are a popular Christmas gift, but are you aware of the potential fire risks?

Earlier this year, an e-bike battery exploded at a maisonette on Ridgeway Road, Tipton. The vehicle, charging at the bottom of the stairs, cut off the residents' escape route. Thankfully, they managed to escape onto a balcony and were safely rescued.
