Yo! Easter offers hundreds of events for younger residents
Press release from City of Wolverhampton Council dated Monday 20 March, 2023
Wolverhampton’s Yo! Wolves Easter programme has been officially launched today (Monday 20 March, 2023), offering hundreds of activities and events for the city’s children and young people and their families during the upcoming school holidays.
The programme is bigger than ever with nearly 25,000 places available at 65 locations across the city during the fortnight-long break.
The activities, many of which are free and include food, range from sports and arts and crafts to fun days out and dance and drama workshops and run from Monday 3 April to Friday 14 April. Full details are available at www.yowolves.co.uk.
Highlights include workshops at the Grand Theatre, cinema and bowling trips with Learn Play, circus and Disney-themed days with RB Holiday Camps, multi-sports activity groups schools across the city, girls football sessions with Soccer 2000, music classes with Beatsabar and art classes at Wolverhampton Art Gallery.
Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said:
“Following the great success of the Yo! programme over the last 12 months, where more youngsters than ever have joined in our holiday events, we’re thrilled to be offering the city’s children and young people a range of brilliant activities that include a meal organised by a host of fantastic local organisations over the Easter holidays.
“We recognise at the moment that too many people – many from working families – are being deeply affected by the cost of living crisis. So providing a comprehensive offer during the school holidays, through Yo! Wolves, has never been so important.
“We are delighted to be working again with city partners and with funding from the council and the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver yet another fun-packed programme with opportunities are available and accessible in every part of Wolverhampton.”
