Sarah Butcher, Head of Organisational Development and Employee Engagement at Wolverhampton Homes joined WCR FM over the bank holiday weekend to talk about the new REACH work experience programme.
REACH is a six-week work experience placement with Wolverhampton Homes or one of our partners within the city. Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in a professional environment, gaining practical insights and hands-on experience. The programme launched during this year's Learning at Work Week earlier in May, which promotes lifelong learning in the workplace.
We listen to what you want, find out what kind of work you're interested in doing and match you to a team in the business for your placement.

Speaking to presenter Chris Allen, Sarah said:
"REACH is about investing in young people to help them develop transferable skills. Our Learning and Development team can give that one-to-one support so participants can create a CV, they'll have interview coaching and a six-week work placement where they'll have the opportunity to shadow someone in different areas of the business.
"We listen to what they want, find out what kind of work they're interested in doing and match them to a team in the business"
REACH is open to job seekers aged 18-24 who live in Wolverhampton and may be unemployed, in adult education or on a zero hours contract. Participants will be on placement for two days a week in the business, gaining hands-on experience which will allow them to apply their newly acquired skills, develop confidence, and make meaningful contributions.
You can listen to the interview here, starting at 46:30.
