Wolverhampton Homes wins second apprenticeship award

Promoting Apprenticeships Wolverhampton Homes

Wolverhampton Homes has won its second award for its apprenticeship programme in just a few weeks, taking home the Excellence in Promoting Apprenticeships award at the Nachural Summer Business Dinner & Awards.

The programme recognises the achievements of individuals and companies from across the West Midlands, and we were recognised for our first-class apprenticeship programme.

The award comes hot on the heels of the Large Employer of the Year award we picked up at this year’s Juniper Apprentice Awards.

Julie Haydon, Director, Corporate Services, said:

"Winning another prestigious award for our apprenticeship programme is wonderful news for our organisation and demonstrates how serious we are about developing the talent of Wolverhampton in support of the City of Wolverhampton Council’s priorities.

“We offer both trades and office-based apprenticeships, ensuring those on the programmes enjoy comprehensive training and hands-on learning in a very supportive work environment.

“This year we surpassed expectations when we received a record 467 applications for our next apprenticeship programme that starts this September, which demonstrates there is a strong appetite for good-quality programmes.

“What makes it all worthwhile is that many of our previous apprentices have succeeded in gaining employment, either with Wolverhampton Homes or with other local organisations."

Hundreds of local businesspeople attended the glittering event, which was held at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Friday 12 July.
